CONFRATERNITY OF SANTISSIMA TRINITA'

The Confraternity of the Santissima Trinità, also known as the "Battuti Bianchi", has very ancient origins, dating back to the 13th century, and was used by the brothers for a long time before its destruction in the early 17th century. Its reconstruction began in 1618 and was completed in 1625, when it was officially opened for worship.

The interior decoration of the church is particularly noteworthy, made up of stuccoes, which are considered unique for their magnificence and richness. The stucco work was carried out at the end of the 17th century by the Beltramelli brothers, originally from Lugano, and completed a Trinità that had remained bare until then. Also enriching the church are the prestigious frescoes by S. Taricco, originally from Cherasco, and no less important are the sculptural works by Bernardino Quadri, the frescoes by the Braidese Operti or the imposing canvas of the "Presentation of Jesus in the Temple" by Charles Dauphin.

The Confraternity's activities continue to this day: on Easter Sunday, in fact, it organises a procession through the streets of Bra during which the sculptural group of the Cristo Risorto (Risen Christ), made in 1718 by the Turin sculptor Stefano Maria Clemente, is displayed.
