BRA TENERO E BRA DURO

Bra, due to its vocation as a centre for maturing and trading the cheeses of the Cuneo herdsmen, gives its name to an excellent cheese, in its Soft and Hard variants.

A pressed cheese, it is made from cow's milk. Maturing lasts a minimum of 45 days for the Bra Tenero, while it extends for at least six months for the Bra Duro.

Since 1996, Bra can boast the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), both for the soft and the hard cheese. The Consortium for the protection of Bra cheese has been active since 1984.

Moreover, the town has been the seat of the International Cheese Fair since its debut in 1997.
