MAO

The Museum of Oriental Art (MAO), also one of the largest in Europe, exhibits almost 2,300 works exclusively from Asia, covering a period from the Neolithic to the early 1900s. The Museum was opened in 2008 in the 17th-century Palazzo Mazzonis in the centre of Turin and consists of several thematic areas dedicated to South and South-East Asian art, ancient Chinese artefacts, Japanese religious and secular art, artefacts from the Himalayan region and a substantial collection of Islamic art.
