THE 'BELVEDERE' OF MONDOVI'

The Belvedere Garden occupies, at the top of the hill, the space that previously housed the 14th-century Franciscan Church of Sant'Andrea with its bell tower.

When the church was demolished in the 1800s, the inhabitants  transformed the space into a panoramic garden that embraces the area surrounding the town at 360°. The bell tower of the old church was spared and reused as the Civic Tower, today the symbol of the town.

The Tower, the Garden and the layout of the Palace of Justice make up the so-called Parco del Tempo, an itinerary that traverses the concept of time and its measurements with examples of sundials still in working order in the garden and an itinerary that traces the history of clocks, from electric to manual, developed inside the tower.
